Time to share all the beautiful color our eye can see. This show is about all the colors of the rainbow and more! What’s the criteria? The intention of this show is to be abstract so the focus is the color itself. Think Mark Rothko’s study of color and the affect of standing so close to his work that you feel you are standing in the color itself. Yep that was actually his purpose of his studies. Literally experiencing color by feeling like you are standing in orange or red or whatever color was in his paintings. Think Piet Mondrian and the balance of color and negative space from the age of Art Deco.
Monochromatic, complimentary, gradient, reversing light colors with dark colors from real life, picking a set number of colors, or picking different colors that represent an emotion. Color and patterns of color have so many effects on the human brain and this show s here to explore these. Color can bring back memories, help you focus or even improve your state of mind. Green is a good color for intellectual conversation. Red in the United States is associated with anger while in Asia it is a color of prosperity. Color psychology is real and, thanks to new technology, measurable in our brains. Color effects our eyesight and our ability to determine depth perception. We can play with color to trick our moods or how we see vibrations in a flat painting.
Explore of this, but exploring color itself in this show.
