ARTIST BIO
Angela Smith is a licensed professional counselor with 40 years of experience in the field of drawing, coloration, and painting. She is a self-taught artist who has won contests starting at the age of 10 and received blue ribbons in 4-H. By the age of 15, she took courses in high school in the mediums of acrylic paint, pencil, and sculpting. After high school, she became a wife and mother, worked full-time jobs and wandered away from drawing until she was in her 20’s. In 2006, she was invited to a paint party that stoked her desire to get back into her artistic talents and began painting again. At this time, she sold her first of many commissions and has grown as an artist over the years. Angela has sold both original work and prints of her work to people in the community.

Angela’s passions are in people and landscapes, although, she has done portraits of animals in oil. Angela’s favorite medium is soft pastels as these give her the depth of color and movement that result in more realistic and colorful pictures. She currently has a page on facebook @redangelartgallery, where you can see more of her talent and stages of some of her work. Inspiration artists include Bob Ross, Donna Newberry, and Vincent Van Gogh, although her style is all her own.
