ARTIST BIO
Austin Muratori,
Muskegon Photographer and Cameraman
Austin became interested in film and photography at an early age. His diagnosis with cancer at age 10 gave him time to observe the world and discover his interest for sharing his observations through photography and filming. He honed these skills as he spent time convalescing and filming really became passion.
He picked up an old video camera and camera from Goodwill and that is where it all began. He always wanted to keep this new found passion as a hobby with no deadlines as he began to freelance in later years.
“It’s about the process and he wants others to enjoy his work as a photographer.” – Austin
He did attend film school and graduated in 2015. After that he spent 6 years with the Muskegon Lumberjacks perfecting his skills and in 2018 landed a job as a photojournalist with the local FOX news network.
Being a photojournalist with any news outlet is very hectic and demanding with usually long hours. Austin still tries to balance that. He carries a still camera with him at all times and loves to get out in nature. He tries to capture his subject in different ways, many times in abstract.
