Two Shows at Once – along with our Featured Artist!
ART EXPLOSION: This show is all about the art that is being created in self-isolation and during this pandemic. This show’s theme is that even in times like this; we, the artists of the world, are the keepers of beauty and creativity. We bring hope and reflection to all of humanity in times like this.
ESSENTIAL WORKERS SHOW: This exhibit’s focus is on the brave — those literally keeping us alive in the medical field, ambulance drivers, nurses, doctors medical technicians. Our elderly and disabled have the home care and assisted living employees to be grateful for more than ever. Firemen, police personnel and other first-responders to natural disasters or emergencies. This show is also for the infrastructure jobs that had to still go out and fix down wires, roads, bridges, water ways, cable wires, wifi/ internet connection and city sewers. It honors those we don’t think of first. The grocery store attendees, mechanics, plumbers, IT and security and factory workers of essential goods. The food industry workers both in manufacturing, take-out positions as well as the delivery of food to people’s homes. The postal and delivery employees. The employees literally behind the scenes like news camera personnel and reporters. This show is a chance to share their stories.
FEATURED ARTIST GAIL HOWARTH: Our Featured Artist Gail Howarth has her exhibit featured through October 10, 2020. Gail is a long-term resident of West Michigan, an award-winning landscape and nature photographer, and blogger. Gail weaves compelling stories with her words and images. Her interest in photography began at age 8 when she saved enough box tops from Kellogg’s cereal to receive a free Kodak Instamatic Camera. Gail’s exhibit is titled “A Time to Heal” and is a project that utilizes photography and words that share the journey of vastly different people.
