Renae has owned a camera of some type since maybe 7 – 8 years old and always seemed to be the family photographer, capturing the important family moments, throughout her early years into adulthood.
She never viewed herself as an artist, it was only a hobby and it was photography. She had the desire to do more but work and other things always took precedence. Attempts at learning manual settings on the traditional 35 millimeter cameras started and stopped and then digital photography emerged and she started to take some workshops.
Landscape and macro floral are her favorite subjects and photography has now taken her to many of the National Parks across the U.S. Her most memorable trip has been to Cuba through Santa Fe Photography School and the theme of that trip was the evolving role of women in Cuba. Renae hopes that now that the COVID pandemic is somewhat under control, that many more trips are in her future.
